Summer here in the Alps gives opportunity
for a huge array of activities, Mountain biking, white water
rafting, canoeing, paragliding, golfing, climbing and walking.
There is a summer swimming lake in Morillon, a short walking
distance from the chalet. It has a man made sandy 'beach' and
diving stages. a short drive away at Plessey there are numerous
lakes that by mid summer are quite warm to swim in.
The chalet is in the Giffre valley at
approximately 800 metres on the edge of Morillon and 2km away
from the old town of Samoens. The area is renowned for white
water activities with a number of rafting and canoeing companies
nearby. The valley is 23km long, starting above Cluses and running
in a gentle incline to Sixt where the road rises steeply to a
dead end. It is ideal for relaxing road cycling with more difficult
paths and tracks off. The Grand Massif lift system runs several
key lifts during the summer months for mountain biking. We have
a number of quality mountain bikes available for guests to use.
Summer Acitivies include:-
- Walking through endless marked trails
throughout the Alps.
- Swimming, open air pool in Samoens.
- A lake with beach area 10 minutes walk
from chalet.
- Two aerial adventure parks within walking
distance.
- Tennis.
- White water rafting.
- Paragliding.
- Pony trekking.
- Golf.
- Mountain biking and road cycling.
Throughout the summer the local Tourist
Board organises events.
